Richard Allen Sagear, age 73, of Cedarville, Michigan, died Monday, March 1, 2010, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was born May 9, 1936 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the son of Raymond William and Hazel Rose (Smith) Sagear.
Richard grew up in La Crosse, graduated from Central High School in 1954, and worked at Trane for his entire career. After he retired, he and his wife Jacqueline moved to the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 2001 to be near Jacqueline's parents.
Richard was a member of the Moose Lodge, Knights of Columbus, 25 Year Club at Trane Company, and Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. He was an active volunteer at The Cedar Post Thrift Shop in Cedarville, serving as assistant treasurer. He enjoyed traveling, square dancing, deer and duck hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, golfing, playing cards, and bingo. Richard was always pleasant and diplomatic and had good negotiating skills. |
Richard is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Lee (Fioravanti), whom he married September 18, 1982 in La Crosse; daughter, Arlene (David) Lueck of La Crosse; son, Paul (Sylvia) Sagear of Huntley, Illinois; stepsons, Mark (Sue) Molstad of Onalaska, Wisconsin, and Kevin Molstad of La Crosse; four granddaughters, Andrea (Ross) Auna, Stephanie Lueck, Teresa Lueck, and Sheila Sagear; and former wife, Kathryne Humbel of La Crosse.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gail Sagear; and stepson, Jeffrey Molstad. |
Services will be held Friday, March 5 at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel, Michigan. A gathering time will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. with a Memorial Mass to begin at 3:00 P.M. |
Additional services will be held Saturday, April 17 at 10:30 A.M. at Mary Mother of the Church in La Crosse. |
